Update on Alexa

Thank you to all of you who have been praying for Alexa. Steve took her in to Children's yesterday morning to get her stitches out of her finger. It turned out that an infection had set in and so they had to begin treatments of direct iv antibiotics into her other hand. Her left hand was completely bandaged up because of the iv and her right hand was completely bandaged up because of her owie finger. We went back to Children's last night for another dose of antibiotics. Alexa had a rough sleep last night and was in quite a bit of pain. We had to give her medicine at 2 am and then this morning Steve took her back to Children's. The infection appears to be getting better not worse, so they gave her another dose of iv antibiotics and then sent her home with a high dose of an oral antibiotic for the next five days. Thankfully she now has use of her left hand. She was a much happier camper when they got home at lunch time. She is sleeping now.
Because the dose of antibiotics is so high to kill the infection there is concern over a sick tummy and extreme diareah (not exagerating), I will be giving her acidophilus so hopefully that combats it a bit. Please continue to pray for healing.
On a different note, my surgery is in 4 days... a little nervous with all that is going on with Alexa. Please pray for a smooth surgery for me as well as quick healing and no complications.
thank you to all
I will post pics of Naleah's birthday party in the next few days. She had a blast and danced herself right to bed (almost literally).
